Praise Banquet
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Phil. 4:4
The new motto for Summit Christian College was presented at this year’s Praise Banquet along with a reminder that we who care about the “Great Commission” have a tremendous responsibility before us. That motto:
“Hasten the Day”
was extracted from Peter’s exhortation to the leaders of the church to stand firm, press forward and not loose sight of why the church exists. Since the mission of the college is to educate people for Christian Leadership, we are compelled to take this exhortation seriously. It is, after all, it is not only the overarching purpose of the church, it is the ultimate destination of all mankind.
The Motto is both a sober reminder and an exciting challenge. By allowing ourselves the ability to maintain a steadfast focus on the eminent return of Christ, we cannot help but remember with joyful anticipation what God has in store for us and what he has challenged us to engage in while giving us great reason to safeguard our conduct as we walk closely with the savior and encourage others to do the same.
Summit Christian college’s new tagline was also presented at this banquet:
“For those with the highest calling”.
The tagline gives new meaning to the college’s new name while the new motto proves a clue as to what that high calling is all about.
